REL Acoustics T9

Stepping up to a T-9 produces a huge increase in performance over the smaller, less expensive down-firing models (T-zero/T-5). T-9 combines a forward-firing 10” passive with a down-firing 10” ULT driver, along with a high current 300W Class A/B amp with remote-mounted toroidal transformer. The combination of a larger cabinet, the driven cone area of a 15” driver, and 300 watts of power results in epic bass at a reasonable price.

T-9’s rear panel embodies classic REL quality. The very large heatsink that allows T-9 to run cool for years, a full REL connectivity suite that allows for both perfectly blended musical sub bass, as well as powerful, concussive Home theater bass defines the T-9. Very large soundfield reproduction mates with Full-sized tower speakers And quality monitors.

The amplifier design for T-9 is a high current 300W Class A/B linear power amplifier with remote mounted toroidal transformer. These workhorse amps have proven themselves in over 50,000 units to date, with excellent reliability.

REL’s latest input filter design is borrowed from its more expensive sibling (Serie R) and is considerably quicker than previous REL designs. This speed is partly responsible for the slam and attack for which Serie T is known. Note the separate volume controls for High Level and .1 that allow perfect levels for music and home theater. With REL, there is no need to turn it up for theater, then turn it down for music.

T-9 uses a quality stamped steel-frame 10” Ultra Long Throw (ULT) driver in the T-9. REL drivers are a big part of our success, with much care and attention paid to producing truly low bass from relatively small drivers, and then engineering them to be able to withstand high power and output for long periods of time. T-9 features a forward-firing 10” coated paper passive for the driven surface area of a 15” driver.
